Position Overview:
SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Collaborates with physician offices, hospital clinic or directly with patients to schedule Capital Health Infusion Center treatments in a timely manner. Works closely with the Infusion Center supervisor or charge nurse to schedule and maximize utilization of nursing time, productivity and resources. Gathers complete patient and procedure information for each treatment for accurate patient registration and billing. Is a resource for the physician offices on how to obtain pre-certification and authorizations from the various insurance carriers. At time of scheduling, verifies patient eligibility and accuracy. Performs all medical receptionist duties, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments and follow-up care and maintains the patient's medical record. Works closely with the finance department on claim denials to assist in the appeals process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Six months medical office or hospital setting experience.
  • Other Credentials:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to problem solve and multi-task. Able to multi-task and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Special Training: Proficient computer skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and endoscopic and/or surgical procedures and experience with variety of insurance companies preferred.
