Job Description
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a 1st shift Shipping Material Handler. This role is based at our Sherman, TX facility and will support the Shipping/Receiving department. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. The rate for this position is $21.20 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
What you’ll do:
- Collect order notes to fulfill customer orders
- Pick products from storage shelves using barcodes, serial numbers, etc.
- Shrink-wrapping items to secure them before placing them in boxes or on pallets
- Operate handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations
- Load delivery vehicles
- Update stock inventory after orders are picked
- Manage stock control, including item replenishment and storage
- Receive training on the use of a power truck and other powered material handling equipment (ex. walking crane or hoist).
- Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
- Perform general warehouse duties as necessary
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of six (6) months of Forklift experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within a fifty-mile radius of the Sherman, TX facility will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Stand-up Forklift experience.
- Strong product knowledge.
Skills:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending with or without accommodation
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and close attention to detail
- Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product
- Ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate
- Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and up to 12 hours in a shift, based on business need
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (eight to twelve hours) and perform repetitious tasks
