Our Team

At Hopedale Cardiovascular Associates our focus is to provide compassionate care to our patients and their families in a community setting, while utilizing the latest technology in diagnostic testing and treatment strategies. We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and management of cardiovascular disease. We have a large team comprised of 11 providers and 7 Cardiac Techs. Our cardiologists are all board certified with over 90 years of combined experience. We offer a wide array of services to care for even the most complicated patients.

We are located at 236 Milford Street Upton, MA 01568.

Our primary goal is to take care of our patients, but we must take care of our employees first to provide exceptional care to our patients.

General Overview

We are seeking a full-time, 32-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Tuesday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Under the direction of a physician or an advanced practitioner our Medical Assistants are dedicated to clinical support. The Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner. Our current Medical Assistant model is to work 1 to 1 with their providers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues), ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visit, organization of electronic charts, etc.
  • Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs. Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
  • Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: EKG's and point of care testing.
  • Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.
  • Sends in electronic prescriptions for patients that have been instructed by providers, medical authorization and medical reconciliation
  • Communicates with patients regarding laboratory, imaging results and prescription instructions per practice protocol.
  • Maintains the strictest confidentiality of any and all patient records including but not limited to treatment, diagnosis, history, medication, and financial status.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is strongly preferred.
  • Current national medical assistant certification with one of the following organizations preferred.
  • American Assoc. of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - Credential: CMA
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT) - Credential: RMA
  • National Healthcare Association (NHA) - Credential: CCMA
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - Credential: NCMA

(National Medical Assistant Certification will be required within six months of hire)
