DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounts Receivable Specialist must be a detail-oriented accounting and business professional who will provide hands-on day-to-day interactions and processing of Anthem Community Council’s accounting and financial activities. The Accounts Receivable Specialist must have the ability to prioritize and deliver accurate, appropriate, compliant, and timely work products. There will be specific assigned finance jobs as well as serving as a back-up to some finance processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide the highest level of customer service, respect and compassion to Anthem residents in person and on the phone.

· Perform collection duties while educating owners and following established policies and procedures for Anthem.

· Work with residents and arrange payments for delinquent assessment fees.

· Monitor payments to ensure payment schedules are satisfied.

· Serve as the main point of contact for all collections, including legal partners.

· Manage electronic payments, cash, checks, and other receivables as necessary.

· Create deposits and manage mail distribution.

· Prepare and maintain regular reports and records on account receivables.

· Assist with the escrow process for home sales as needed.

· Must be accurate, responsible and dependable.

· Ability to reconcile accounts with bank statements.

· Respond and assist property owners with a variety of financial inquiries.

· Perform other financial support and accounting duties, as required.

· Other duties as assigned and needs within the department may change and the scope of work assignments may change, even significantly.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

· : AA degree in accounting or related financial field. Relevant experience may substitute for education at a ratio of 1.5 to 1 (1.5 years’ experience = 1 year education).

· : Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an accounting, financial, or collections environment.

· : Excellent oral and written communication skills. Commitment to superior customer service and positively interacting with Anthem property owners to find solutions to delinquent assessment balances due. A strong work ethic and desire to be a team player. Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to learn ACC’s general ledger system – Caliber.

· : Mandatory to have knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Exposure to or knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act guidelines is preferred.

· – Schedule is mutually flexible and variable within our work week.

· – ACC Administration Office in the Anthem Civic Building – 3701 W. Anthem Way.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must be physically and intellectually capable of operating a personal computer, printer, facsimile machine, phone, and various other routine business equipment items.

· Ability to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing.

· Must be able to speak, read and write English so that various types of communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities both in person and over the phone.

· Perform physical activities (possibly for extended periods of time) that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, with a full range of motions including walking, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, and carrying.

· Position requires the ability to exert minimal force of up to 20 pounds to move or lift objects.

· Must be able to transport oneself around the office and other facilities as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Must be able to work efficiently, timely, and quickly on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.

· Must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.

· Must be able to work effectively with a positive attitude and demeanor in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.

· Position will primarily be working indoors in a controlled climate but may also include working in an outdoor setting with variable climate which may include extreme heat.

· Must dress in a manner representative of the ACC as directed by the CEO or designate.

HOURS/WORK LOCATION

Official hours are Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May also be available to be flexible and work additional hours to ensure proper execution of job responsibilities including attending Board of Director meetings and special events which may occur on a holiday or weekend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
