General Summary:

The Professional Development Administrative Assistant schedules, coordinates, documents and maintains the education and training programs in accordance with established goals and objectives of the Professional Development department. In addition, this position maintains and updates training database to ensure accurate recordkeeping of education and training activities; controls training records; coordinates travel for training activities; and serves as the department’s primary point-of-contact.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains record keeping related to employee education and training programs by updating database and files to accurately reflect employees’ technical and non-technical training records. Provides team members and managers with training and safety records or reports as requested.
  • Coordinates communication of education and training initiatives (i.e. training calendars, newsletter articles, etc.). Organizes company book reviews including ordering of books and materials.
  • Documents and tracks tuition reimbursements and training requests to ensures adherence to established Company policies.
  • Assists with necessary resources for training events (i.e. equipment, space, materials, snacks, meals, etc.). Assists presenters with functionality of equipment and room preparation and tear down. Maintains materials for the company’s learning centers.
  • Serves as team member liaison with travel coordinator for training related travel.
  • Assists with new employee orientation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Licenses/Certificates: N/A

Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required

Physical: Repetitive motion; tolerates standing, walking, bending and sitting; proficient typing and data entry skills

Environmental: N/A

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College level business courses preferred
  • Minimum two years clerical experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) required
