Position - Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant at First/Calvary UMC is the first face/voice of the church and uses flexibility and positivity to help the pastor(s) organize and complete the activities of the church.
Reports to: Pastoral Staff
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and/or print church publications such as: bulletins, announcements, enews, directories, mailings, etc. [2 hours est.]
· Keep church calendar updated and send communications to appropriate parties.
Communication includes reminders about room usage, notifying the pastor and affected parties of any room usage conflicts, and ensuring that room setup is communicated to the custodian/community service coordinator. [1 hour]
· Update the website and Facebook page [30 min.]
· Weekly database maintenance [30 min.]
· Other duties [30 min+]
o Secure and electronically file church records and meeting minutes.
o Collect and distribute mail for the church.
o Greet visitors to the church office.
o Keep office area tidy.

: High School Diploma or equivalent life experience.
: MS Word (and Mail Merge), Gmail (or MS Outlook), Google (Calendar), Excel, Facebook, and database experience (any)
or willingness to learn: Google Calendar, Wix (website hosting/design), Flocknote (email design and database), Slack, and using a postage meter, copier/printer, and paper cutter.
: $20/hr.
: 5-8hrs per week. Preferred day(s) for working: Tue, Wed, or Thur.
