Position Description

The Admissions Director should achieve and maintain census and case mix as per budget. Provide for the smooth transition from referral location to facility via an informed and complete admission process. Assure a positive community image for the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as facility primary contact with Admission Liaisons and referral sources regarding admissions.
  • Maintain the database of medical contacts and community resources.
  • Alert Department Heads of projected changes (i.e. admissions, discharges, and room changes, etc.).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and assist with the managed care referral process.
  • Provide information to families regarding LTC stay, costs and regulations.
  • Ensure the timely completion of pre-admission/admission paperwork (i.e. Insurance verification in particular).
  • Responsible for the completion of daily census reports & forwarding of information to Corporate office/Admission Liaisons.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in long-term care environments is preferred.
