Why you'll love working with us

  • You’ll become an integral part of our animals’ daily lives; working hands-on with cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies every day getting to know all their silly quirks and personalities.
  • You’ll play an instrumental role in bringing families and their new furry family members together.
  • Our Consultants start at $17/hour. Add another $1/hour for Spanish fluency.
  • Our Employee Adoption discount because aren’t pets like potato chips? You can’t have just one.
  • We offer a 401(k) program because your retirement only seems like a lifetime away.
  • A flexible part-time schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Bloomingdale’s hours are

If you relish the quiet personal time of a commute, let us know! We’d love it if you’d regularly lend a hand at our other locations in North Aurora and South Elgin!

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensuring animal spaces are clean and that they're thriving both mentally and physically.
  • Using a variety of computer programs to gather the info you need to provide superior service and process animal adoptions.
  • Be the friendly face that greets visitors, assisting them in finding their new family member.
  • Stay informed about and spread the word about our incredible programs and events.
  • Maintaining a welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.

What to expect

  • The need for safety awareness due to animal exposure.
  • A mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including playing with the animals (we call this “enrichment”).
  • Staying active: walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds with help).
  • Making memories with happy families and witnessing countless joyous moments!

Do you have what it takes?

  • At least a year in customer service.
  • Strong communication skills that showcase warmth and inclusivity.
  • Are highly comfortable learning new software programs.
