Job Summary:

The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors.

The PG&C Center is currently hiring for an Algorithm & Simulation Program Execution Lead for Air Dominance Family of programs in Tucson, AZ.

This position will support a major Air to Air technology missile program as the technical execution lead. You will help lead a cross-discipline team of engineers executing all GNC and SP algorithms, and simulation and performance tasks to ensure delivery of the missile system per program plan. The IPT structure will be influenced by the IPTL in collaboration with the Program Management Office, the Program Chief Engineer Office, PG&C leadership for execution aligned with program technical, cost, and schedule plans.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will help lead a cross-discipline team engineers executing all GNC and SP algorithms, and simulation and performance tasks to ensure delivery of the missile system per program plan.
  • You will ensure all GNC and SP algorithms, and simulation scope is performed with a cohesive technical approach compliant to our robust execution practices.
  • You will report technical and earned value metrics to program and functional leadership.
  • You will provide leadership to the Sub-IPTs (GNC, SP, and MSA) to ensure program alignment and teamwork.
  • You will manage the development of software products, algorithms, and simulations to deliver a production ready design within a challenging schedule.
  • You will provide leadership for IPT collaboration with functional partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, Digital Technologies, and Global Supply Chain.
  • The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access Program clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior GNC, Signal Processing or Modeling/Simulation experience.
  • Experience including at least two of the following: digital and/or modern control systems, dynamics, Kalman filter design, Monte Carlo, development and/or simulation of physical systems, or signal processing.
  • Experience with Matlab, C, C++, and/or Object Oriented design
  • Experience in a technical and/or functional leadership role.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Advanced Degree in STEM
  • Ability to manage multiple critical priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, across all levels of the organization and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and customers regarding matters of significant importance.
  • Ability to influence others to agree/accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
