Archival, Data and Planning Specialists help support the preservation and retention of key information collected across various studies and surveys. They may also support initiatives related to planning and policy for various state parks and recreation areas around the state of Minnesota. The Individual Placements program prioritizes personal and professional growth while teaching hands-on conservation skills in the field. Specialists develop technical skills throughout their term while completing challenging and impactful conservation projects. Specialists are directly supervised by Conservation Corps Program staff and partner site supervisor. Members complete service projects with direction provided by partnering agencies and representatives of those agencies.
Member Duties : State Park Archiving Specialist: The purpose of this position is to support and complete various Itasca State Park inventory, archiving and digitizing projects. Minnesota Biological Study Specialist: The member will provide be involved with two major MBS projects: the MBS Document Management Project and the DNR online Rare Species Guide (RSG). Policy and Planning Specialist: This position will aid in the policy and planning for the state parks, state recreation areas, and state forest campgrounds. DataSpecialist : This member will work with the MN DNR IT dept and MN Parks and Trails staff and local parks and trails staff to complete the information for Park and Trails management areas in our EIS data base.
