ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER


Lion Hotel Group, a growing hotel ownership/management company with operations in multiple states, has an exciting opportunity available for an ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER at our 338-room full-service Holiday Inn and Suites hotel in Duluth, MN. We are looking for someone who has a passion for hospitality.


Our hotel is conveniently located in Downtown Duluth, a short distance from the Canal Park and Bayfront Park tourism areas and just a few blocks from the region’s main healthcare campuses. This property is connected to the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center by skywalk, and is right in the middle of all the action for the biggest entertainment and sporting events in town. The hotel features 12,000 square feet of beautiful Banquet and Meeting space, an attached parking ramp, and commercial shopping center. It also features two popular F&B outlets - the Greenery Café & Bakery and the Lyric Kitchen-Bar. 


The Assistant General Manager at the Holiday Inn & Suites Duluth will primarily oversee the operations of the hotel's Front Desk, Accounting, and Housekeeping departments, and assist (as needed) with the general operations of other hotel departments. Essential responsibilities of this position include achieving budgeted revenues and expenses in order to maximize profitability; managing departments in compliance with established hotel, franchise, and government policies, procedures, standards, and goals; and placing a strong focus on attaining optimal guest satisfaction.

 

A successful candidate will have the experience and interpersonal skills to develop and lead a productive team, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to effectively delegate work/authority. He/she will make both guest and associate satisfaction their top priorities. We are looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing, and professional, with a positive demeanor, and who will enjoy being part of the Team that provides our guests with a top-rated hospitality experience.


Candidate Requirements:

·A minimum of two years of related hotel management or supervisory experience, including responsibility for multiple direct reports.

· Hotel Front Desk experience is preferred; Food & Beverage and/or Housekeeping experience is helpful.

· Highly effective communication and problem-solving skills.

· Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Well-developed leadership skills and the ability to motivate and bring a team together.

· Must have a valid driver's license and meet company standards regarding driving for business-related purposes.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule according to business demands.
