Assistant Marsh Manager

Badger State Staffing is in search of an Assistant Marsh Manager at our Necedah facility. The Assistant Marsh Manager has support responsibilities for management of their assigned cranberry operations. This role is one of short-term and long-term planning that incorporates budgeted and capitalized investments, with the objective of improving operation efficiencies. Housing is not provided for this position.

• 1st shift 8am-4:30pm - Additional hours can be expected during harvest and for frost watch.

• 50,000-60,000 yearly salary – Based on experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Responsible for providing leadership, direction, and coaching to other full-time employees, as well as part-time employees.

· Responsible for implementing all day-to-day activities at the direction of the Marsh Manager related to water management, pest management, frost protection, nutrition management, maintenance and repairs of equipment, and human, fruit, and environmental safety.

· Advances current and new growing practices through necessary means to increase acreage yield and fruit quality.

· The Assistant Marsh Manager is actively involved with the CIP (continuous improvement process) within the company.

· Responsible for ensuring employee safety and fruit safety standards are achieved or exceeded by working closely with the Marsh Manager, Quality Marsh Manager, and Safety Manager.

· Works cooperatively with the Marsh Manager, other Marsh Managers, and administrative personnel.

· Operate and maintain agricultural equipment and implements, heavy machinery, and forklifts.

· Equipment fabrication, welding, and repair.

Requirements:

· Private pesticide applicator license required.

· Forklift certified.

· Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally.

· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift 8-10+ hours daily.
