Job Description

Reececliff is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and customer-focused Assistant Restaurant General Manager to join our team. As the Assistant Restaurant General Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Your leadership will be key in supporting the General Manager, managing staff, and contributing to the diner’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Assist in recruiting, training, managing, and developing a high-performing team, ensuring all staff maintain excellent service standards.
  • Operations Oversight: Help oversee daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, food preparation, safety, and cleanliness to ensure compliance with health regulations and company standards.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure that guests have an exceptional dining experience by monitoring service quality, addressing customer complaints, and resolving any service issues quickly and professionally.
  • Financial Management: Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and meeting financial goals by overseeing inventory, supply orders, and labor costs.
  • Staff Support: Support employee engagement by fostering a positive workplace culture, addressing employee concerns, and implementing best practices to improve morale.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure the restaurant adheres to state and local health and safety regulations, including food handling and alcohol service guidelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Be proactive in identifying potential issues and finding quick solutions to keep the restaurant running smoothly, even during peak hours.
  • Reporting: Assist the General Manager in preparing and analyzing financial reports, sales performance, labor costs, and other key performance indicators.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and gather feedback to continuously improve service.
  • Assist in Promotions & Marketing: Collaborate with the General Manager to execute local marketing efforts, promotions, and community outreach to drive traffic and sales.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role in a full-service restaurant or similar environment.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Customer Service: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of health, safety, and food handling regulations.

Preferred:

  • FOH/BOH Experience: Experience working in both front-of-house and back-of-house roles a full-service casual diner or similar environment is a plus.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Basic understanding of food preparation and menu items to effectively oversee kitchen operations when needed.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
