Smugglers’ Notch is hiring an Assistant Ski Patrol Director. The right candidate would have multiple years of experience in line Patrol with growing supervisory and management skills and be ready to take the next step in their Patrol career. This is a seasonal position with the option to be full time year-round for the individual who wants to learn about all aspects of Mt Operations.

The ideal person works well with others, enjoys outdoor activities and is an expert skier or rider. Enjoys a challenge and can adapt to every changing situation required to operate a ski area. Is looking for the opportunity to grow within the ski industry.

• Facilitates the directive of the Patrol Director in creating a patrol team that is guest oriented and respectful.  Works well and communicates with other departments. 

• Understands and is competent in executing the Emergency Response Plan(s) for Mountain Operations, ensures staff is properly trained and prepared to implement these procedures.

• Adheres to budgetary guidelines that includes staffing, supplies, equipment and fees for accreditation.

• Works with the Director to Structure and implement training programs that meet or exceed the standards of the National Ski Patrol

• Ensures that records and reports are executed and maintained, including trail report, grooming report, incident reports and related incident investigations.

• Responsible for ensuring thorough incident investigations are conducted and documented as needed. Trains staff accordingly.

• Assists in recruiting, training, managing and communication with Volunteer Patrol members.
