JOB OVERVIEW:

An analyst at TRC…

· Is a blend of a data scientist and a business analyst

o Work with raw (uncleaned) data files to extract information

o Apply univariate, bivariate, and multivariate techniques as appropriate to answer questions

o Understand business objectives to plan and execute analyses

o Work thoughtfully to solve problems and arrive at conclusions

o Explore the data and understand multiple approaches may be required before gaining insights

o Clearly communicates (written & orally) the implication of results to non-analysts

· Plays a crucial role in contributing to client projects

o Work in a team setting, where each member has unique but inter-dependent tasks

o Responsive to team communication

o Work within tight deadlines

o Performance has a direct impact on a project’s success

· Performs tasks independently with minimal oversight

· Juggles multiple projects at a time

· Is inquisitive and self-motivated to research, discover, learn, and utilize new methodologies and technologies

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science or equivalent

· Progress towards or completion of a Master’s degree a plus

· Some professional work experience a plus

· Experience working on team projects

· Experience answering questions with data

· Experience applying statistical methods, machine learning, and natural language processing to solve problems

· Experience working with raw data files

· Proficiency in data wrangling and data cleaning

· Proficiency in R and/or Python programming languages (2 years minimum)

· Proficiency in Excel

This position is junior-level. Candidates are expected to perform in a professional work environment and have a high-level of comfort working with data. Specific methodologies will be trained as necessary.

TRC operates on a hybrid in-office/remote work schedule. Employees are expected to be in-office 1-2 times a week. 

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000
