Humana is seeking an Associate Director, Business Intelligence to support the Wisconsin Medicaid Market. The Associate Director, Business Intelligence solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers and requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

The Associate Director, Business Intelligence

  • Describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.
  • Leads teams of data analytics and reporting professionals and business intelligence professionals.
  • Develops market strategy in conjunction with the Humana Medicaid segment to create and implement operational dashboards used for monitoring key performance metrics.
  • Acts as the point of contact to ensure Medicare and Medicaid encounter submissions are being accurately processed.
  • Supports operational business areas, including finance.
  • Serves as lead on several projects involving data and reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of technical experience in data analysis and intelligence OR Master's degree and 5 years of technical experience in data analysis and intelligence.
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience supervising a team of professionals.
  • Five (5) years of experience working at a health plan or in the health care industry.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in Medicaid or Medicare programs.
  • Experience in process improvement and metrics development.
  • Proficiency in Power BI.

Additional Information

  • Workstyle: Home. Home workstyle is defined as remote but will use Humana office space on an as needed basis for collaboration and other face-to-face needs.
  • Work Location: preferred to reside in Wisconsin.
  • Travel: up to 5% to Wisconsin for in-person meetings.
  • Typical Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Central Standard Time (CST)
  • Direct Reports: 4 direct reports, 2 of the direct reports are managers with teams.

WAH Internet Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$126,800 - $174,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
