Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as an Associate Programmer Analyst. The location of this position is at Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will be supporting Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) as a Courseware Programmer/Developer, packaging joint military internet based courseware, joint reference, and any other joint training and reference materials to be presented via the JKO Learning Content Management System (LCMS). You will also analyze and modify content from other systems for use on the JKO LCMS.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Developing .xml packaging for courseware products developed by our team.
  • Creation/validation of the sequencing of the packaged elements.
  • Test and load the completed courseware into the LMS.
  • Take courseware developed for other LMS's, deconstruct the software package and reconstruct it in a manner that will allow it to run on the JKO LCMS. To do so, one must be able to learn SCORM 2004 standards, and have experience with HTML5 and JavaScript programming.
  • Document actions to be reported to government and contract leadership.
  • Develop procedures to be followed by the courseware developers.
  • Will work and deal with Courseware at all levels of interactivity (primarily IMI level 2, but prefer to be able to handle all levels).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field: Computer Science, IT or related field. (An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree)
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a full Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Advanced Distributed Learning field
  • Experience in programming for the any LCMS or LMS (such experience will be a plus to convert other LMS products to run on the JKO LCMS)
  • Experience/proficiency in Animate, Captivate, Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks, Photo Editor, Photoshop
  • Experience/proficiency in HTML5 programming
  • Experience in training military & civilian personnel via computer based and web-based applications
  • XML, CSS, JavaScript programing skills
  • IMS Manifest troubleshooting skills
  • -candidate may be tested as part of the interview
Salary Range: $55,300 - $82,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
