Job Description

Our client is looking for an Automated Assembly/ Quality Control/ Machine Operator in Providence RI 02916

Duration: Contract until February 2025
Hours: We are looking for folks that can work some or all shifts, regular M-F and maybe open to 12-hour shifts. They are starting a new shift pattern in the first week in September – the hours are: 6am to 6pm and 6p to 6a, but this is subject to change (start and stop times).

  • 1st Shift 6am-2:30pm
  • 2nd shift 2pm-10:30pm (10% shift differential)
  • 3rd shift 10pm-6:30am (15% shift differential)

Notes from Intake:

  • What PPE is required in this role? Safety glasses, ear plugs & safety shoes.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Load plastic capacitor housing onto the starting station of automated assembly machine.
  • Load coils of stamped material onto the payoff system and feed into automated assembly machine.
  • Prepare capacitor trays by setting them to appropriate size (determined by capacitor being produced).
  • Manually straighten capacitor leads.
  • Insert capacitor leads into cutting tool and trim to prescribed length.
  • Load trimmed capacitors onto trays.
  • Feed capacitor trays onto conveyor.
  • Remove empty trays, restock and feed onto conveyor as required.
  • Operate automated assembly machine.
  • Remove finished capacitor from automated assembly machine and place in packaging tray.
  • Visually inspect finished capacitors as required.
  • Record lot numbers for plastic housings, coil stock and capacitors.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures as defined in the Interplex Employee Manual.
  • Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP’s certifications and QMS.
  • Follow Company Safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping of workstation and surrounding area.
  • Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education /Skills /Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Should have good Communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Should have good Prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Should have good Organizational skills.
  • Should have good Time Management skills.
  • Strong Initiative with a drive for Continuous Improvement.
  • Administrative & Record Keeping skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
