Bilingual Transportation Operations Specialist

We are searching for a driven Bilingual Transportation Operations Specialist who can help us streamline daily operations by collecting and organizing data to ensure efficiency and adherence to any approved budget across the department.

Key Responsibilities for Bilingual Transportation Operations Specialist:

• Monitor day-to-day operations, report on performance recommendations, and recommend improvements, as necessary.
• Manage projects, collect, organize, and compile data. Orders supplies as needed while adhering to department budget.
• Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
• Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, minimize lead times, and improve overall performance.
• Create procedures, protocols, and proposed policies (such as checklists) and distribute them to departmental staff.
• Actively engages in meetings as a bilingual translator, facilitating smooth communication between English and Korean speakers.
• Translates emails and other documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy and cultural sensitivity in cross-language communication.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees to ensure they understand all policies and procedures (SOP's).
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards.
• Stay up to date with transportation regulations and industry trends to ensure adherence and implement necessary changes.
• Conduct regular performance analysis, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports to monitor transportation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Proactively address any transportation-related issues and find effective solutions.
• Assist all section managers and supervisors with different projects and tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Bilingual Transportation Operations Specialist:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations or similar field
• Two or more years of years of experience in operations, logistics, or similar role
• Fluency in both written and verbal communications in English and Korean is required.
• Project management experience
• Proven experience in translation, particularly in a business or professional setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and other productivity applications and platforms.
• Self-sufficiency and an ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
• Comfortable sitting for extended periods of time while working on tasks.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Bilingual Transportation Operations Specialist is $55,700 - $61,600. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
