Job Description

Job Purpose

The Billing Director provides oversight to inpatient LTAC and outpatient billing teams for services. This position also supports the Retail Pharmacy accounting function along with any additional duties assigned by the Business Office Director or CFO.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duty


Percent of Time


Oversees inpatient LTAC and outpatient billing. Ensuring timing payments of claims are made and correctly applied to accounts.

30%


Prepare end of month inpatient and outpatient activity.


15%


Responsible for Retail Pharmacy accounting and support.


15%


Enter outpatient Accounts Receivable into the General Ledger and reconciles accounts to the General Ledger.


10%


Prepares and monitors weekly census information and bills Medicaid.


10%


Monitors inpatient data and claims.


10%


Tracks and reconciles Recipient Trust activity.


5%


Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervises the Billing Department as questions or circumstances arise. Including answering questions from staff, ensuring timely deliverables at month end and being the Billing Department liaison to the Hospital as reports and questions come up. Direct reports include Outpatient Billing Specialists and Claim Resolution Specialist.


Qualifications

Education:


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance


Experience:


5+ years of experience in billing and claims resolution

2+ years of experience in accounting or in a business office

1+ years of experience in leadership

Meditech software knowledge preferred


License/Certification/Credential:
