A BAKED JOINT is a family bakery & cafe in the heart of DC established in 2015. Our focus is high quality, naturally leavened handcrafted breads as well as a variety of laminated dough pastries. We are proud to have been named Best Bakery by The Washington Post and owner Teresa Velazquez was named DC's Best Pastry Chef in 2023!

We are now seeking Bread Bakers with an emphasis on Pastry to join our skilled baker team and continue the dedication to serving delicious breads and pastry to Washington, D.C.

Qualified candidates should have:

• Have experience with hand laminated dough (from start to finish), including croissant and puff pastry.
• Have a strong understanding of, and appreciation for, fermentation and the role it plays in the dough’s development and flavor.
• Able to short / gently dough mix with long fermentation, incorporating folding for development
• Able to confidently work with high hydration doughs ( from mixing to shaping)
• Efficient and consistent hand shaping techniques (for a variety of bread shapes)
• Experience baking in a steam injected deck oven.
• Passion, dedication, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work hours that could be anywhere from 4am open to 8:00 close and also Saturday and Sunday.
