Job Description

The Broker Representative will lead operational efficiency and service execution across an assigned broker panel. This role will handle incoming broker demand (i.e., broker setup, product inquiries, accommodation requests), and facilitate direct action across cross-functional Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (“BCBSKS”) teams. The Broker Representative will also actively lead a set of assigned brokers by monitoring overall performance, including setting business, profit, and growth plans. Acting as the BCBSKS quarterback, the team member will set recurring meetings with brokers and other BCBSKS partners to increase the overall relationship with the business.

This position is eligible to work hybrid or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

What you’ll do
  • Delivers results towards BCBSKS profitable growth strategy set out by the region, executing on broker plans, strategic initiatives and underwriting audits to meet financial targets.
  • Works on the Broker development to obtain terrific exposure across multiple teams in the organization and to build relationships in order to work with a vast array of brokers in Kansas and other states.
  • Assesses internal and external broker demand.
  • Executes Broker setup and establishes Broker performance plans.
  • Provides underwriting resolution support.
  • Delivers timely and relevant communication to Brokers.
  • Executes regional Broker initiatives.
  • Executes underwriting audit recommendations and plans.
  • Manages Broker performance across a group of brokers.
  • Leads the Broker Training Team.
  • Attends regional Broker events, meetings, and campaigns.

What you need
  • Health and Life Insurance License or the ability to pass the Health and Life Insurance Test within 60 days.
  • Experience in a CRM platform
  • Business experience in the Health and Life industry, or similar
  • Requires a minimum of 75% travel within assigned area of responsibility.

Compensation
BCBSKS Grade: Exempt 15
Minimum salary $69,760.00
