Business Operations Manager-Children's of Mississippi
Job Summary:
Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages the daily business and administrative operations of the Children’s Hospital. This position supervises and coordinates the capital and non-capital equipment, facility, and contracting needs for the Children’s Hospital. In addition, this position serves as the Property Control Officer for Children’s Hospital.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Organizational skills. Ability to implement policies and procedures. Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees.
Responsibilities
  • Directs Children’s capital equipment process and budget including compiling budget, managing purchases of equipment, maintaining records, preparing reports and receiving and distributing equipment
  • Ensures compliance with financial and institutional policies and procedures regarding Children’s contracts and agreements. Establishes and maintains comprehensive and current record keeping system of executed agreements
  • Plans and directs the daily business and administrative operations in Children’s
  • Works with directors and executive leaders on special projects and committees
  • Liaises with internal and external constituencies regarding Children’s construction projects, capital equipment and contracts
  • Working with Facility Services, researches, develops, and implements plans to maximize space utilization within spaces allocated to Children’s.
  • Maintains Children’s Administration equipment and furniture inventory
  • Assists in maintaining Children’s facilities that encompass initiating maintenance, repair, and construction requests to ensure compliance with UMMC, State, and Federal laws, policies, and procedures.
