Job Description

Develop and maintain relationships with employers to assist them in the recruitment and retention of employees. Matches employer hiring needs with WIOA participants’ skill sets. assists participants in securing employment with job referrals and leads. Engages with industry associations, CBOs, and business chambers to stay abreast of current job market trends, the skills sought by businesses in various fields, and career paths.
  • Plan and deliver job readiness and career development workshops for participants; and conduct monthly job club meetings and periodic employer hiring events.
  • Assists program participants with the development of resumes, interview preparation, and provides other job search assistance as deemed necessary to secure employment.
  • Complete and maintain case notes of activities and services provided to job seekers/clients in the Career Connect system; assist with writing reports and document activities as required by program objectives; and attend department meetings as specified by supervisor.
  • Review and monitor projected placement and employer-related program goals, benchmarks and outcomes . Assist in developing and implementing strategies that address gaps in performance.
  • Collaborates with staff within the subdivision, the Job Resource Center and other areas of the college that connect with employers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social services, psychology, counseling, education, human resources, business, marketing, or related area. One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in workforce development, recruiting, job placement, marketing, human resources development, or educational/vocational training.

  • Knowledge of unemployed and low-income population served through program, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • The ability to analyze program performance and seek strategies to meet performance criteria.
  • Experience with B2B consultative sales, and knowledge of educational programs and job search services.

Hours
25 hrs./week. Occasional nights and weekend work may be required.
