This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to [Cole Engineering Center, Warren MI] three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business
Wiring presents a unique opportunity to accelerate your purchasing experience through highly impactful projects with high senior leadership visibility.
What You'll Do
Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget and on-time metrics
Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
Sourcing and Contracting Activities that include, but not limited to:
o Sourcing event bid strategy & management
o Bid analytics
o Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, technical documentation
o Leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment
Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services
Cooperate with legal to negotiate special contract terms
Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items
Support commercial budget activities
Support logistics supplier management initiatives, including "Strategic Supplier Engagement"
Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis and supplier requests
Participate in supplier KPI reviews
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidates
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
Developing Contracts / Agreements - minimum 1 year post-grad experience
Project Execution - minimum 1 year post-grad experience
Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
SAP
MRP Systems
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
Ability to travel at least 5-10 % of time Domestically + internationally

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related advanced degree
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of procurement software and materials management
Capable of interpreting market data
Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed
