Job Summary:

Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Duties:

- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing

- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management

- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations with clients

- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed

- Accompany clients to appointments or social outings

- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate supervisor

- Follow resident rights policies and ensure the privacy and dignity of each client

- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients

- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up

Skills:

- Experience in senior care, childcare, or direct support is preferred

- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and ability to assist clients accordingly

- Understanding of resident rights and ability to uphold them in all interactions

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals

- Compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Knowledge of social work principles is a plus

- Familiarity with hospice care is an asset

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards caregiving
