Cashier / Grocery Stocker Responsibilities

We are seeking a Cashier / Grocery Stocker to join our team. The ideal candidate is efficient and detail-oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for keeping inventory stocked and ringing out purchases at the cash register.

1. Greet all customers, respond to customer questions and provide customer assistance in a courteous manner.

2. Be attentive to our customers providing excellent customer service by smiling, greeting, and thanking all customers.

3. Process customer purchases quickly and accurately in an organized fashion.

4. Prevent loss of money and merchandise through removal of bottom-of-cart items, careful product handling, completion of price checks or not-on-file or mismarked items, correct identification of produce, counting of money, and accurately using store procedures for the acceptance of coupons and checks.

5. Prepare the back room for receipt of merchandise, unload trucks and sort cases according to aisle or pallet for stocking.

6. Clean store floors, check-lanes, carts, restrooms, parking lot and shelves.

7. Load and transport cases to sales floor either on stocking carts or pallets.

8. Match the case strip to the shelf tag, place merchandise in the designated shelf position.

9. Stock and organize shelves with attention to product placement and rotation.

10. To assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately.

11. Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.

Cashier / Grocery Stocker Requirements & Availability

• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent communication skills, outgoing personality.
• Knowledge of basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs working in cooler/freezer storage areas including required overhead and lower shelf reaching, bending and stooping moving 50 lbs.
• Read, write and understand English.
• Standing work on tile or concrete for duration of shift.
• Able to operate computer to ring out customers.
