The Life Center is a premier, non-profit, nursing and rehabilitation center in Des Moines, Iowa. We offer Skilled/Rehabilitation, Long-Term Nursing and Alzheimer's/Memory Care. Since 1931, The Life Center has been, "Serving the Needs of Persons of All Faiths".

We are seeking a Certified Dietary Manager with a team focus to join our leadership team!

2+ years supervisory experience required with at least 1 year of long-term care preferred.

Pay is negotiable depending on experience and education.

Duties include and are not limited to:

Plans, organizes and carries out all dining services functions for the facility. Maintains good communication with nursing and Dietician to ensure diets are updated and followed. Knowledge of modified diets a must. Ability to learn and follow Kosher dietary requirements. Writes policies and procedures in collaboration with Administrator, department heads and Consultant Dietician. Plans menu with Consultant Dietician. Purchasing of food and supplies, inventory and cost control experience is a requirement. Scheduling, supervising and working collaboratively with dietary team in a professional manner is a must.

Responsible for employee scheduling, interviews, hiring and termination of dietary employees. Plans and arranges mandatory in-services; maintains employee training records. Responsible for all regulatory and safety requirements of the dietary department.

Resident and employee confidentiality and discretion is a must. Collaboration and ability to work closely with team members in a positive environment is essential.

Willing to train and invest in the right person with proven record of proficient supervisory skills and at least 2-3 years of food service experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
