West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek a Chief for our Division of Pediatric Critical Care and Medical Director of the 15-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at our Morgantown, WV Children’s Hospital.
About the Job:
Unique opportunity in pediatric critical care to join a renowned team of aligned providers in the medical and surgical care of children
Collaborative atmosphere that will allow you to practice advanced medicine in a highly satisfying academic environment
Cares for infant and children with a broad mix of medical and surgical illnesses
Supportive modalities include advanced ventilatory techniques, neuro critical care monitoring, renal replacement therapy, and extra-corporeal circulatory support within the CICU
Division and PICU personnel include eight pediatric intensivists, six advanced practice providers, plus dedicated respiratory therapists, a pharmacist, and a dietician
Important clinical service lines include trauma, neurosurgical, neurological, and general medical
The division also leads the inpatient deep sedation program serving many patient types, including oncologic procedures and vascular access (PICC lines) needs
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
Eligible for state medical license
Completion of a pediatrics residency program or combined medicine-pediatrics residency program
Completion of a pediatric critical care fellowship program
About WVU Medicine Children’s:
Our newly opened 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 15 PICU beds, 4 EMU beds, 8 CICU beds in the Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.
