JOB TITLE: CNC Machinist
LOCATION: West Warwick, RI
HOURS: 1 st Shift.
Join our dynamic team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, where you will play a crucial role in our day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks within our shipping and receiving department. This role demands excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with both internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC (Okuma) machines to perform precision machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Use GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure accurate and precise machining.
  • Fabricate parts using various materials such as metal, plastic, or composite.
  • Inspect finished parts using hand tools, micrometers, and other measuring instruments, including CMMs.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines or tooling as needed.
  • Work from CAD/CAM files, engineering drawings, sketches, and/or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified CNC operations to specifications.
  • Assist in training workforce in proper setup and use of equipment/systems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
  • Proficiency in the use of computerized machine controls and precision measurement instruments.
  • Experience with machining steels of various grades and hardness.
  • Ability to work to +/-.0005" tolerance.
  • Ability to read, understand, and program in G-Code format.
  • Experience with CNC Swiss-type lathes is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude and use of significant mathematical skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift 50 pounds, and use basic hand and power tools.
  • Willing to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
