About this position: Coding and Documentation Integrity Manager
Under the general supervision of the Revenue Cycle Director, develops, executes, and maintains clinical coding program which includes but is not limited to coding training, coding audits, documentation, resources, and tools; consults with other departments across the agency when coding and clinical documentation expertise is necessary.
Manages coding integrity auditing and clinical documentation improvement activities for the organization. Develops or contributes to the development of and provides coding and documentation education for clinical staff. Supports the fiscal goals of the organization by providing timely and accurate deliverables, working with other departments across the organization to meet coding and documentation quality objectives. Ensures revenue integrity through compliant coding and documentation capture approaches.
This is a full-time remote position and is only open to applicants that reside in the states of WA, ID, HI, KY, IN, AK.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Works closely with Clinical Leadership; identifies coding trends, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs quality audits for clinician services incorporating both coding and clinical documentation requirements into the assessment.
  • Reviews clinician documentation in the medical record to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and third-party billing requirements, rules, regulations, and standards of care.
  • Provides coding support, education, and training to clinical staff.
  • Develops audit tools and coding resources; including, but not limited to clinician audit dashboard, coding training guides, annual coding updates, maintains a “Coding Corner” on SharePoint
  • Reviews records for documentation deficiencies and collaborates with the clinicians and clinical leadership to improve documentation specificity.
  • Performs research and provides coding and documentation guidance for new services offered at PPGNHAIK health centers.
  • Represents Revenue Cycle Operations as a coding and documentation subject matter expert in workgroups, projects, and implementations where needed.
  • Participates on the EHR Upgrade Team to provide input on how EHR changes may impact coding and documentation.
  • Maintains proficiency in coding changes ensures most current information is available.
  • Research and address coding questions from clinical and billing staff.
  • Works HCC/Hedis Gap Reports from health plans
  • Coordinates with Medical Records, QRM, Clinical Applications and the Director of Strategic Initiatives as necessary
  • Supervises Coding Specialist

You’ll need to have:Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, BA/BS degree in business or applicable field preferred.
Certification:
  • AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent required.
  • AAPC Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) or equivalent required
  • Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years practical clinical documentation improvement, coding and/or auditing experience
  • Demonstrated ability training clinical staff on coding concepts.
  • Strong analytical, data management and PC skills including advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills
Compensation: PPGNHAIK's compensation philosophy is based on equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's directly applicable experience and internal equity within the pay grade.
The pay range is $69,200 to $115,333 annually.
