Position Description
Reporting to the Obstetrics Services Coordinator, the Maternal Child Health (MCH) Community Health Worker will provide support, education, resource navigation, and advocacy to patients primarily in the perinatal period (i.e., pregnant, or recently pregnant). The MCH Community Health Worker is a valuable team member of the Maternal Child Health care team and will collaborate closely with family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, medical receptionists, doulas, behavioral health clinicians, and managers, as well as with partner organizations, in providing quality care to patients who want to become pregnant, are pregnant, or were recently pregnant, and their children. This position is grant-funded and may be time-limited depending on grant funding renewals.


What are we looking for?

  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED or higher, and three letters of recommendation.
  • Must have acquired or met the qualifications for certification as a Community Health Worker, or willingness to complete certification and required training hours within 1 year of employment.
  • Doula certification preferred, or willingness to become certified as a Doula within 1 year of employment.
  • The ideal candidate for this role has lived experience, identifies with our patient population, and is an advocate for women, birthing persons, and families.
  • Two years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred.
  • Experience working in reproductive and/or maternal child health preferred.
  • Additional language fluency in Spanish highly preferred.
