ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.
Responsibilities: - Provide Configuration Management (CM) support to the Space Weather Follow-On L1 (SWFO-L1) Project, implementing CM processes and procedures that support the procurement, development, integration, test, and delivery of the project.
- Support the development and change control of the projects controlled and reference documentation which includes the management and control of, hardware, software, plans, procedures, requirements, drawings, work order authorizations, engineering orders, and deviations/waivers.
- Understand project and stakeholder roles and responsibilities needed to capture the requirements necessary to develop, implement, and maintain a project-related Configuration Management Procedure (CMP) in accordance with 400-PG-1410.2.1 Configuration Management Procedures and Guidelines” (PG), Code 400 Goddard Procedural Requirements, GPR 1410.2E, Configuration Management, and the GSFC ISO/Quality Management System.
- Maintain the CM Data Management system in support of all CM and data management activities.
- Manage and serve as the Configuration Control Board (CCB) representative responsible for coordinating and managing all CCB activities including generating CCB agendas/minutes, distributing documentation for review, dispositioning and implementing final documentation, and tracking any related actions.
- Manage the receipt, review, disposition, and related distribution of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) items.
- Maintain and produce configuration management related status reporting as needed and in support of key project lifecycle reviews.
- Additional duties as required.
- Must have configuration management and data management experience and detailed knowledge of required compliance documentation including Goddard Procedures and Requirements (GPR) -1410.2 and 400-Procedures and Guidelines (PG)-1410.2.1A is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must have Technical Data Management System (TDMS) experience.
- Ability to work independently but also as a team player in a fast-paced environment and interface successfully with Project personnel and technical leads as well as personnel at varying levels of management.
- Individual must have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to manage time and meet the many reporting deadlines.
- Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience or 5-6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
