What will you do:

As a Construction Management Field Intern at KLJ, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects and gaining valuable experience in the field. This internship is designed to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of construction engineering, and project management, and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.

  • Project Support: Collaborate with our project teams to assist in the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. Gain exposure to various stages of project development, from initial design to project closeout.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring work follows plans and specifications. Document and report findings to project managers.
  • Technical Analysis: Assist in analyzing construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings. Participate in value engineering discussions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Safety: Learn and practice safety protocols and guidelines on construction sites. Promote and maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including project schedules, and progress reports.
  • Problem Solving: Work closely with experienced engineers to identify and address construction challenges. Develop innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth project coordination.

What’s required of you:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong work ethic and an understanding that there will be long hours and long days with the possibility of working weekends.
  • Desire to learn and grow in the industry.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and principles (preferred but not required).
