Job Description

Job Title: Control Systems Engineer

Summary/Objective: An exceptional opportunity awaits a Control Systems Engineer passionate about designing and programming custom high-precision and state-of-the-art machinery. This role is ideal for those who thrive in creating innovative solutions and enjoy the challenge of managing complex projects from concept through to onsite troubleshooting and commissioning.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage in a collaborative environment with a team of innovative professionals dedicated to developing sophisticated and technically advanced machinery for diverse applications.
  • Oversee project lifecycle management, including concept, build, customer acceptance, and onsite troubleshooting & commissioning, under expert guidance.
  • Execute programming tasks utilizing PLCs, motion controllers, hydraulics, pneumatics, vision, robotics, servo drives, stepper motors, electrical/electronic systems, HMI & SCADA.
  • Maintain adherence to company standards and procedures, ensuring quality and performance of automated equipment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through educational workshops, professional societies, and staying abreast of state-of-the-art practices.
  • Play an active role in continuous improvement efforts within the department.
  • Act as a liaison with customers during project reviews and meetings.
  • Work closely with Project Managers on risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Provide valuable input during the estimating phase and potentially manage one or more modules of a project under development.

Required Competency, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Rockwell Automation Products, Fanuc Robotics, and automated assembly cells.
  • Experience with 2D CAD Electrical Engineering (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and proficiency in English required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Expertise in Allen Bradley PLC design & programming (GuardLogix, ControlLogix, MicroLogix, RSLogix 5000).
  • Experience with robot simulation, teaching & programming (FANUC, ABB, Motoman).
  • Knowledge of HMI (Panel View, Factory Talk View).
  • Additional programming skills with Siemens, Omron, or others, and robotics skills with Nachi, ABB, Motoman, Kuka are a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: This is a full-time position primarily based in an office setting within a manufacturing environment. It requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods, perform detailed tasks up close, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel: The role may involve up to 25% travel, including potential international travel, to support large project needs.
