Position Summary:
The role involves delivering precise and comprehensive cost and financial analyses to enhance business operations and decision-making. Responsibilities include reconciling inventory records with physical counts, addressing discrepancies, and recommending corrective measures. As an integral member of the financial team, the position contributes to the budgeting and month-end closing processes. It also applies cost accounting principles to conduct in-depth studies, providing detailed cost insights not covered by general accounting systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of the standard costing system for new items.
- Coordinate weekly reconciliations of cycle counts for Finished Goods and Raw Materials inventories.
- Ensure transaction accuracy across all inventory locations.
- Calculate and record month-end inventory and cost journal entries.
- Engage in inventory-related projects and report on material usage and variances.
- Manage physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve cycle counting variances.
- Update standard costs within the bill of materials.
- Review standards and actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
- Validate cost of goods sold during the month-end close.
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs in compliance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Manufacturing to review obsolete inventory across all sub-inventories.
- Perform ongoing process constraints analysis and report on break-even points and margins by product and division.
- Support the Sales team in validating new quotes and work with the Engineering group to calculate ROI on capital projects.
- Undertake other duties as required or requested.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least five years of relevant experience in cost accounting or related roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General ledger or financial accounting experience is required.
Qualifications:
- Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to manage various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Capability to interpret a range of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with manufacturing software is essential.
- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system is preferred.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
