Who are we looking for?

The Customer Account Manager will be working with multiple strategic outsourced billing customers. With a solid understanding of healthcare billing, reimbursements, payments and collections, you will be responsible for supporting team members, functional managers, and customers in reviewing revenue cycle trends, generating reports, creating dashboards, and process improvements. You will guide in translating this data into user friendly analytics tools geared towards driving business efficiency and revenue. In addition, the CAM will assist with strategic customer implementations to ensure a smooth transition from the implementation team to the outsource billing team.

You will serve as a subject matter expert within your team and customer base, responsible for leadership, guidance (internal and external) and training.

  • Executive Presence. Not only will you present to, and become confidant for, the executives at our clients, you will act as their advocate internally and act as an ambassador for XiFin externally.
  • Project Management. You’ll be asked to keep track of key initiatives in the billing process for our clients. You’ll work with your internal counterparts to insure excellent performance.
  • Financial and Analytical Skills. You’ll need to be comfortable sifting through data to understand not just to present KPIs, but to understand the drivers and corrective actions to increase them.
  • Healthcare RCM process knowledge. While you won’t be directly responsible for managing the billing process, you will be accountable and need to understand the revenue cycle – particularly how the data becomes actionable information.

This is an onsite position at a client site in Birmingham, Alabama.

Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.

What will you do?

  • Compile and review customer revenue cycle detail to include accounts receivable, error/denial trends, and payment posting trends
  • Create and provide dashboards performing a thorough analysis of appeal success rates, expect price discrepancies, and any other financial metrics the customer needs
  • Support the implementation of customers by establishing payor portals, mapping error codes, developing nuances, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the front-end and back-end processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive establishment of all customer aspects not directly related to front-end or back-end
  • Provide customer reporting and present analytics when needed that will aid in managing and streamlining operations

  • Engage in continuous improvement projects around automating system workflow, data gathering and reporting
  • Monitor the ongoing effectiveness of processes and adjust as necessary
  • Audit & manage offshore work, as needed, based on business and workflow need
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and reports for team and business partners as required
  • Assist in operational/RCM tasks based on business needs
  • Assist in monitoring the day to day workflow with the operations team, answering questions as they arise, and assisting with any training needs

You may be hired as an Associate Customer Account Manager, Customer Account Manager, or Sr. Customer Account Manager based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.

What education and experience do you need?

A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Healthcare IT/Mgt, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle, billing and/or strategic analytics role, pertaining primarily to hospitals, pathology, and laboratory
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level of MS Excel experience required
  • Solid experience & understanding with medical billing software and medical billing practices

What does the position pay:

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location.

The expected range for this role is $65,000 - $115,000 annual compensation. Please note this range is an estimate and actual may vary based on qualifications and experience.
