Customer Service Agent-Analyst

Overview

The ideal candidate would possess the ability to relate well with people from all backgrounds as well as a desire to sort through complex insurance guidelines in order to find workable solutions for clients.

Budget Insurance General Information:

∙ We are a small, locally owned office

∙ We specialize in providing auto insurance to people who may not qualify for insurance elsewhere or are seeking low-cost alternatives to that which is typically available from most providers.

∙ The operating environment is more characteristic of a retail operation. We take both walk-in and call-in clients. Clients typically come to us as referrals on an in-bound basis. Making out-bound "cold calls" is not our business model. Instead, every staff member is expected to provide amazing service in order to do his/her part to continue the flow of referrals from happy clients.

∙ We generally have a chance to get to know the clients. The majority of interactions are with new clients, but we also have clients who have been with us for several decades.

∙ The combination of continually changing carrier guidelines combined with the uniqueness of each customer’s needs and circumstances creates a very dynamic work environment/experience (this is not a boring place to work).

On the Job Training

All skills needed in order to be confident and successful in the position are provided in one on one training sessions. We have a long history of training people who have little or no experience in an office environment, no experience working with customers on the phone, and no experience with insurance.

Typical Activities/Tasks:

∙ Initially (First few months)

o Greet callers and visitors in a professional and customer-focused manner o Take payments

o Provide service to existing customers.

o Process mail, email, etc.

∙ After a few months on the job

o Complete multi-carrier quotes

o Resolve billing issues

o Assist clients in sorting out claim and accident issues

o Work through complex underwriting situations

o Start new policies

Expectations/ Goals:

∙ Within 4 months of being hired must be able to:

o Complete quotes within 35 min.

o Complete policy changes within 10 min.

o Have a complete understanding of all underwriting guidelines for all carriers; state laws pertaining to auto insurance, drivers licensing and vehicle titling; and ability to completely navigate all computer systems used in the course of business.

Qualifications & Desired Qualities:

∙ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to relate with people of all nationalities, races, ages, and socioeconomic groups.

∙ Some customer service or sales related experience (does not need to be insurance related)

∙ Detail oriented

∙ Dependable team member

∙ Trustworthy with cash handling

∙ Able to adapt to changes in workflow and computer systems

∙ Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to maintain professionalism during client interactions

∙ Ability to multitask and prioritize

∙ The ability to speak more than just English (bi-lingual) would be beneficial, but not required.
