Job Description

One of North America’s most successful manufacturers of office furniture, filing, storage, and organizational products for personal and commercial use, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to add to its team in the company’s Des Moines, Iowa location. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to retail customers, consumers, and internal customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General receptionist duties including answering multiple phone lines
  • Entering customer orders
  • Researching and resolving order discrepancies
  • Managing customer portals
  • Writing parts orders
  • Entering sample orders
  • Managing office supplies and postage machines
  • Providing product and parts support to external and internal customers
  • Managing parts calls, emails, and purchased parts from the Hirsh website
  • Updating parts spreadsheet and customer portals
  • Managing parts inventory


TECHNICAL SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of previous experience in a Customer Service environment strongly desired
  • Exposure and knowledge of supply chain processes strongly desired
  • SAP, SalesForce, and EDI knowledge strongly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Excellent at prioritizing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining deadlines
  • Detail oriented and conscientious
  • Strong 10-key and computer keyboard skills
  • Self-starter
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs to fill parts orders


MAJOR PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, picking up, and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
