General Description and Classification Standards
Performs data-entry, customer service, research, and paperwork processing tasks utilizing a variety of resources including document imaging, host-access applications, departmental systems and client server applications. Duties include, but are not limited to: entering and verifying data; scanning and printing documents; retrieving requested records; researching records in response to extensive requests; reviewing system enhancements; verifying workflow function and reporting accuracy and discrepancies; and providing general assistance within the assigned department.
Supervision Received
Works under general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.

Operates a computer, printer, optical scanner etc., to enter, store and retrieve data to prepare and produce reports, compose routine correspondence and disseminate information to others on the system. Helps other divisions within the court with their data entry and information processing problems. Reviews computer software, screens workflow proposals and makes recommendations. Answers the telephone; provides information; takes and relays messages and/or directs calls to appropriate personnel; returns calls as necessary. Cooperates with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and its officers or representatives when their activities or investigations are related to on-going investigations being conducted within the City of Atlanta; works to achieve the highest level of cooperation and efficiency possible.

Uses independent judgment and discretion in the handling of emergency situations.

None. May oversee temporary or contract workers as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list.
Knowledge of records management, government operations and office practices, policies and procedures. Skill in communicating and interacting with supervisors, elected officials, members of the general public and all other groups involved in the activities of the City in response to specific requests. Ability to operate a computer terminal and related computer workstations, scanners and printing equipment. Ability to prepare court documents and written reports in a concise, clear and effective manner.
