Deli Clerk (Part-Time)

Tops is seeking a part-time (18-32 hours a week) Deli Clerk to work mornings (7-3PM) and evenings (2-9PM) and rotating weekends to be responsible for serving customers for the deli department. Offering $15.69 upon entry. Potential raise once fully trained and proficient. No experience required. Paid training. Must be 18 or older.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing incredible customer service by proactively approaching customers at the counter
• Slicing, weighing and packaging a variety of items from cold cuts to salads as requested by customers
• Answering any questions about products or services offered, such as catering
• Maintain proper product levels of product at all times
• Ensure date rotating of product
• Working with team members to maintain the overall appearance of the department
• Ensure deli items are well-merchandised and properly signed to showcase quality a
• Unloading and breaking down deliveries as needed
• Wash dishes as needed
• Properly handling products and equipment
• Maintain all cleaning and safety standards within the deli department

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a solid work ethic and be accountable for offering the highest quality of service to customers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Will require lifting and moving heavy objects greater than 30 pounds
• This is primarily a standing and walking position where an employee will be required to stand in one place or walk the store
• Frequent exposure to cool/cold temperatures
