JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Manager, individual is responsible for supporting Sacramento Plant Quality Assurance. Provides support to Production relating to product quality and food safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs various administrative functions to support Sacramento Plant QA such as purchasing supplies, scheduling Inspectors, auditing timecards, vacation tracking, etc. Maintain Quality Inspection forms as specifications are updated. Orders forms as needed for Quality Inspection personnel.
  • Monitor production holds and disposition out of grade product for rework.
  • Review of inspection test results, summarizing out of grade conditions. Collaborate with Sacramento QA Managers to ensure quality standards are clearly defined and finished products conform to specifications.
  • Work with Sacramento QA Inspection staff, providing training and guidance with inspection procedures.
  • Review of inspection test results, summarizing out of grade conditions.
  • Inspection of Quality/Food Safety issues with customer returns, ingredients, and packaging.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, graphs, and databases for ongoing Quality Assurance/Operations projects. Updates QA Manual documents as directed.
  • Travel to other Blue Diamond facilities for Quality support as needed.
  • Participate in Food Safety Program internal audits, GMP audits, and Safety audits.
  • Assists with complaint investigations as needed.
  • Monitors and maintains equipment and inspection calibrations.
  • Provide QA support for Sprint Teams, test products, and packaging qualification.
  • Required to perform other tasks as needed or assigned by management.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level of education required.
  • High School Diploma or GED
Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience.
  • 2-5 years quality assurance/manufacturing experience
Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)
  • Proficient reading and writing skills. Typing and 10-key skills required. Experience with quality inspection tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. Must be able to work effectively with inspection staff as well as Operations Leads and Managers. Self-starter. Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. SAP experience preferred. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
  • Able to work under limited supervision. The position may require the ability to work in noisy areas.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and BDG Safety Policies.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. alone or 50 lbs. with assistance.

  • College degree preferred.

On shift employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
