You will learn to sell, quote, bind coverage for prospects. Responsible for completing extensive training and development programs to gain product knowledge, sales and customer service skills needed to effectively review existing coverage and advises prospects and customers regarding policy and coverage options.

Position Compensation Range:

$23.00 - $30.76

Pay Rate Type:

Hourly

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

We also have a need for individuals on our Bilingual (English/Spanish) team. By utilizing your bilingual skills, you will get a 7% shift premium.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Sells property and casualty insurance products to new or existing clients. Estimate and quote policy premiums complying with underwriting guidelines.
  • Makes appropriate recommendations on policy coverages and options, closes sales, and process applications.
  • Gather all necessary information to assess if prospective customers meet underwriting guidelines. Contact appropriate division for underwriting guidance when needed.
  • Meet sales and sales quality goals.
  • Gain and demonstrate knowledge of American Family`s competitive advantage by comparing competitor products and services.
  • Develop knowledge and skills to qualify and follows up with sales leads.
  • Identify clients` needs and cultivate effective sales relationships.
  • Learn to convert incoming leads into qualified customer engagements

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Attention to detail to provide accurate quotes to clients.
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple computer systems/screens during a quote.
  • Ability to clearly explain insurance concepts and coverages to clients.

Licenses
  • Must have Property & Casualty Insurance Producers licenses.

Prefer Life licensed too.

  • Must complete required continuing education credits to maintain state property and casualty producer licenses.
  • Must maintain property and casualty producer licenses for all operating states and/or service states.

In this role you will be paid hourly. we offer an uncapped Variable Compensation Monthly Bonus plan based on sales performance and key performance indicators.


Travel Requirements
  • Up to 10%.

  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.

These offices are located in:

Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; and Phoenix, AZ 85034.

Core business hours are 8 am to 7 pm CT Monday-Friday and 8:00am-4pm Saturdays.

Training begins Monday, November 4! No Time off allowed during training hours (Training is approximately 6 weeks).

Licenses:

  • You must hold an active Property and Casualty Insurance Producer's License. American Family Insurance will pay to maintain your licenses after hire along with all CE requirements.
