This is a highly behavioral case working one to one with a male client with history of physically aggressive behaviors.
Applicant MUST have experience working with challenging and aggressive behaviors and be able to implement crisis management techniques when necessary.
Required shifts:
Will be discussed with the family of our client.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support individual in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships
- Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges preferred
- Must have knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and be comfortable with applying behavior support (managing aggression/self-injury, elopement)
- Ability to drive and possess a valid driver's license
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
