Job Summary:

As the HR Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies in support of the organization's overall business plan and strategic direction. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources (HR), including talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, performance management, HRIS, total rewards (compensation and benefits), and compliance. The Director of Human Resources will assist and support the overall human resources strategic direction, and planning, and has responsibility for the management of daily operations of the HR Team. The Director is responsible for developing and ensuring effective implementation of plans, systems, policies, and processes for all areas within human resources to support enterprise business strategy, continuous improvement, and organizational development and culture aligned with Community Multi Services Inc.’s mission, vision, and values and organizational goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Human Resources Professional with a strong understanding of all HR functions and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee recruitment and selection processes to ensure we attract top talent.
  • Manage employee relations and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Act as a bridge between management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Develop and implement HR plans and initiatives that are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. Organize and maintain a record keeping system to include personnel folders for all employees.
  • Assist with training programs for current/new employees.
  • Attend and assist in Unemployment Hearings, Worker’s Compensation Meetings, Union Meetings, Management Meetings, Administrative and Office Meetings.
  • Provide necessary documentation as needed in various settings.
  • Oversees and monitors a fair and consistent progressive discipline program; provides support as needed while maintaining an open-door policy for all crew.
  • Monitors discipline, suspension, and termination documentation and procedures; provides support as needed.
  • Monitors and reviews all exit and retention-related information; provides support as needed.
  • Tight control of labor relations, employee relations, workman’s compensation, FMLA, Disability Leave and leaves of absence.
  • Oversees, monitors, and enforces compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures timely response to all claims, court-issued documentation, and other reports requiring HR approval, action, or input.
  • Review and approve all requests for current/new employees in each facility.
  • Consult with Program Director and Management concerning the needs of each facility.
  • Assure that each facility has qualified, competent employees.
  • Well versed on CMS’ Policy and Procedure Manual and Union Regulations.
  • Implement CMS’ Policies and Procedures and Union Regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven working experience as an HR Director or senior HR executive.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of comparable human resources leadership is required, including experience in labor relations
  • Prior experience in a Non-for Profit healthcare setting is a Plus.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies and initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, compensation practices, organizational development, and HR best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, high emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HR software (HRIS or HRMS).
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
