Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and manage our commercial roofing operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing roofing production, the metal shop, fleet operations, quality assurance, and service departments, ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing teams, safety programs, and warehouse inventory control, particularly within the commercial roofing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management Oversight: Manage a Production Manager, who manages multiple project managers who oversee various commercial roofing projects, ensuring they are aligned with company goals and deadlines.
• Safety Program Management: Oversee the safety manager and ensure compliance with safety protocols specific to commercial roofing, including conducting regular safety audits.
• Crew Development: While not directly managing crews, you will be responsible for developing and guiding the site superintendent on best practices for crew management and development within the roofing industry.
• Warehouse and Inventory Control: Manage warehouse operations, focusing on inventory control and ensuring efficient workflow within the metal division, particularly in roofing materials.
• Metal Shop Management: Oversee the operations of the metal shop, with a high emphasis on metal forming for roofing components, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Collaboration with Accounting: Work closely with the accounting department to assist in construction job costing and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting, specifically for roofing projects.
• Use of Project Management Tools: Experience with Dataforma or similar project management tools is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing multiple project managers and overseeing complex commercial roofing projects.
• Strong background in managing safety programs and conducting safety audits in the roofing industry.
• Experience in developing crews and mentoring site superintendents within a commercial roofing context.
• Proficiency in warehouse and inventory control, particularly within a metal division focused on roofing.
• Hands-on experience with metal forming and managing metal shop operations specific to roofing components.
• Experience working alongside accounting for construction job costing and WIP reporting, particularly in commercial roofing.
• Familiarity with project management tools, preferably Dataforma.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the fleet operations manager, ensuring vehicles are maintained and utilized efficiently for roofing projects.
• Oversee the Quality Assurance and Service Manager, to ensure quality assurance across all service operations, maintaining high standards of service delivery in commercial roofing.

This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a comprehensive understanding of operations management in the commercial roofing industry, particularly with a focus on metalwork and safety compliance.
