Job Description

The Director of Operations Planning will oversee the strategic planning, scheduling, and coordination of production operations to ensure the timely delivery of products to meet customer demand. At Viaflex, we are driven by our purpose of protecting the earth and promoting industry through innovative solutions. This role involves managing a process-based manufacturing operation where resin pellets are transformed into roll good sheeting across multiple interrelated work centers and locations. We also produce custom configurations like large, fabricated tarps for containment projects and grain covers. Collaboration is essential as this position will work with Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to align production plans with business objectives, optimize capacity, and improve lead times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of long-term production plans that align with company goals, considering capacity constraints, customer demand, and sales forecasts.
  • Scheduling: Oversee daily and weekly scheduling to optimize production workflows, minimize downtime, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Capacity Management: Manage and monitor plant capacity to meet demand fluctuations and ensure scalability for growth.
  • Sales Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure demand forecasts are accurate and integrated into production plans.
  • Lead Time Reduction: Implement strategies and initiatives to reduce lead times and improve operational efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing to align materials and resources with production schedules.
  • KPI Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, lead times, and on-time delivery, reporting performance to the executive team.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the planning and scheduling team, providing coaching and guidance to drive performance improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving planning and scheduling processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, capacity management, and sales alignment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and planning software tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Optimized production capacity utilization.
