Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Talent Development is a visionary and experienced leader that will work with Talent Engagement and Development leadership to identify both initial and ongoing training development needs for our employees and drive these training initiatives. These programs are aligned with our strategic direction to attract, retain, and develop a strategic skilled technical workforce to meet evolving needs of our Information Technology Group (ITG) operations. This includes nationally and internationally in locations outside of the US.

This key leader will spearhead our efforts to build relationships with colleges and technical schools and create a talent pipeline that will keep us ahead of the curve. As they build relationships with local universities, they will also build ambassador programs for divisional university relationships. In addition to this, they will develop and oversee a comprehensive training strategy that will help our employees to thrive and grow in technical tracks and leadership tracks. To accomplish this, they will partner and collaborate with key stakeholders to define learning objectives and develop innovative learning programs. The programs created and has oversight over, will be designed to connect our ITG employees.

As these programs are executed, the director needs to setup metrics to measure outcomes and evaluate the productivity through these performance metrics. The metrics and story will ensure that our team is performing at its best and we are investing in the right programs. Ultimately, our goal is to create an environment where our employees can excel, and our organization can continue to thrive. This proven leader in talent development will have a track record of doing these types of programs in the past and be able to have a future vision of our programs and take us on that journey.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.)

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with company’s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and objectives.
  • Design and deliver innovative and engaging learning programs, including on-demand, workshops, and seminars.
  • Upskill leadership development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of our managers and executives.
  • Expand initiatives for IT Pathways and Tech Residency programs.
  • Develop relationships with technical schools to work on a pipeline/feeder program
  • Build and lead a team to develop an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses organization needs and expectations.
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods and manage the continuing education of employees at all levels of the company to ensure ITG has the talent needed to drive its continued growth and success.
  • Create, update, and deliver training sessions and learning materials via a variety of written, verbal or electronic instructional techniques. Develop and maintain proper communications such as Atlas Connect sites, newsletters and live presentations to ensure employees have knowledge of training events and general information.
  • Define, develop, and deliver technical training across the organization to improve skillsets. In addition, continue to develop employees regarding technology.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices. Conduct follow up studies of all completed training to monitor, evaluate and measure the program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them.
  • Responsible for the coordination of training activities and logistics, including employee and supervisor notifications. Periodically visiting various jobsites to evaluate effectiveness of training programs.
  • Perform a variety of duties related, but not limited, to developing relationships with employees of all levels to determine needed trainings, developing, and maintaining online and in-person trainings.
  • Lead the training and employee development initiatives and communicate a consistent, core-value based message throughout the company.
  • Maintain training database and perform various administrative duties on an as needed basis.
  • Conduct effective induction, orientation sessions and maintain training records. Resolves any specific problems and tailor or modify programs, as necessary.
  • Uses performance reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs across ITG enterprise
  • Creates Learning Communities and career paths by job family
  • Partners with Chief Technology Officer in understanding ground breaking technology, assessing the probability of incorporation into the ITG organization, and development/delivery of training curriculum
  • Negotiates on behalf of HCA ITG all national contracts for web-based training modules
  • In partnership with Division CIOs, drives and supports the technical development strategy for each division

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required

EXPERIENCE

Must have 5+ years of relevant experience required

Must have 3+ years of management experience required

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of leading teams
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Experience with the development and delivery of training materials
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, eLearning, workshops, simulations etc.)
  • Leadership skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively

  • Strong report writing and record keeping ability
