The P&CS Innovation & Strategy team will lead the design and development of new production and store capabilities, processes, and technologies by activating end-to-end systems thinking and problem solving.

In this new model, the Tryer Center and Tryer Lab Testing will serve as the enterprise hub for accelerating and incubating early-stage end-to-end innovation. The team will integrate business strategy, measurement, and agile problem solving.

This position contributes to Starbucks success by leading the Tryer Center teams to ensure that new innovative solutions for Starbucks are being incubated, iterated and tested with rigor so they meet operational and business needs. It involves managing a team of talented partners with diverse functional backgrounds in the Tryer Center. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Tryer Center Operational Management & Tryer Lab Cohort Leadership and Strategy
  • Tryer Lab Testing Strategy and Management
  • End-to-End System Strategy that considers and integrates enterprise priorities

As Director, Tryer Center and Testing, you will…

  • Manage the Tryer Lab Partner TLA program and Tryer Facilities with excellence
  • Build cohesive end-to-end testing and optimization plans that are iterative and in harmony with all business units and leaders
  • Lead and manage cross-functional problem solving using qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Create a value proposition and grow the Tryer brand by supporting internal and external events and designing tentpole moments to showcase capabilities
  • Maintain an agile and intrapreneurial culture within team, challenging and inspiring teams to raise the bar
  • Develop annual operating plan and budget, and quarterly forecast updates for Tryer center

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in a category brand management, strategy or business development role.
  • 5+ years of leading teams & 4+ years of experience in a global retail, restaurant or QSR industry.
  • Operations experience preferred.
