Hourly pay rate: $21.63

Length of contract: June 30, 2025, with opportunity for possible extension

What’s a typical day as a Disability Specialist? You’ll be:

• Managing support staff including delivery of tutoring services, accommodations, adaptive equipment needs, and department resource materials and information.

• Maintaining, clarifying, and updating communication on the implementation and compliance with ACCESS services and procedures.

• Providing intervention and resolution of matters pertaining to tutoring students and staff concerns.

• Identifying, recruiting, and training support staff.

• Conducting student intake interviews to determine appropriate tutoring services needed.

• Maintaining documentation of activities of support staff, including the support staff database.

• Assisting with classroom visitations and college orientations.

• Following up on maintenance requests for assistive devices and specific furniture needs.

• Updating and maintaining ACCESS resource materials.

• Performing other related duties as assigned.



This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree with five (5) years of experience working with adult disabilities.

• Have three (3) years of experience working with students with disabilities, such as tutoring or instructing.

• Have knowledge of academic discipline practices and the A.C.C.E.S.S. Department.

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Possess knowledge in computer technology and familiarity with adaptive equipment.

• Have experience with grant funded projects (preferred).

• Have experience working with multi-cultural students and staff (preferred).
